Company History

1980 Professional Garage Door Systems, Inc. opens its doors for business in Plainfield, IN.  The company starts with one truck and two employees selling residential and commercial doors.

1985 The company constructs the first building at its current location in Plainfield.  The new facility consists of 10,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space.

1988 The company adds a 4,000 sq. ft. building to house a maintenance facility for its growing fleet of service vehicles and equipment.

1991 The company starts its own hardware assembly program.  This will allow the ability to control hardware quality and also cut costs in order to permit further growth.

1992 The company begins wholesaling doors and related products to other door companies and DIY centers throughout Indiana.

1993 A third building is constructed in order to add another 4,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space.

1994 The company begins assembling commercial sections in order to service the rapidly expanding commercial construction market.

1995 The company constructs its fourth building to accommodate the substantial growth of its wholesale division.  This building consists of 22,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and office space.

1999 A fifth building is constructed in order to warehouse loading dock equipment such as dock levelers, dock bumpers, and dock seals.  This will satisfy the ever growing need for dock equipment fueled by the expanding warehouse market in the Indianapolis area.

2002 The company builds its sixth and most recent building to house the commercial section assembly department.  This building consists of 15,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and fabrication facilities.  This brings the current total warehouse and office space in Plainfield, IN to over 70,000 sq. ft.

2002 The company opens another wholesale distribution center in Nashville, TN.  MACC Door Systems distributes to door companies and DIY centers in Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Alabama.

2002 The Homestead custom steel and vinyl carriage house door is introduced.

Today With facilities in Indiana and Tennessee, Professional Garage Door Systems, Inc. sells and installs doors, door openers, gate openers, and dock equipment in seven states throughout the Midwest and South.  The company currently employs 100 people.
